"[Cybersex] is said to crown the achievements of the male model of sex defined by the drive towards discharge, the channelling of all flows towards a final climax, the pleasure of self-satisfaction. Finally detached from the biological body by transcending all fleshy ties, this dominant model of sex realizes the most classical of all patriarchal dreams: independence from matter. Leaving behind the heavy meat of physical presence and floating free in cyberspace..." Luciana Parisi - "Abstract Sex."
What are your feelings on cybersex? Personal experience or personal opinion? Does cybersex (and maybe "real" sex too) cater primarily to the needs of the male? What IS Sex? What defines sex? Penetration? Ejaculation? Orgasm? Can something as fleeting as an internet connection and some dirty words typed on screen classify as sex?
What is SEX today?

Though I personally feel there is nothing appealing to "cybersex", I can understand how it could assist someone with fantasizing because they aren't in full control of the situation, the language used and the thoughts presented are from a new perspective.
I would argue that most people "Cybering" on the web are men. Even the ones who pretend to be girls are probably men. In that respect I guess it does cater to males. However, it is mainly a way of constructing a fantasy in which either party, regardless of sex, contributes. So would the rephrasing of the question be whether women would ever participate in such an action as "cybersex" if men didn't have such a demand for it? That I don't know.
when does sex occur? when doesn't sex occur! See the post on binary oppositions....does sex really need a blanket definition? I think sex is something which is mutual, not to mean that the two people are feeling the same thing but that both are equally motivated to participate in an intimate physical act for the pleasure of both themselves and their partner equally.
